Flora Tristan, fed up with her husband’s abuse, flees from France to Peru in order to reclaim what she considers her family inheritance. Upon her arrival, her uncle changes her mother’s will to leave Flora penniless. However, she glimpses the social differences and the brutal ignominy of slavery in Peru. Returning to France, she becomes a writer and fights for the rights of workers and women. Throughout her life, she experiences love, but chooses to renounce it in order to devote herself entirely to her struggle for equality and justice. Her story is a testimony of courage and dedication to a greater cause.
