14märts14:0018:00ART WORKSHOP BY DANIEL PALACIOSTALLINN ARS ART FACTORY

Event Details

Experimental within contemporary art, Daniel Palacios’ artworks evolve through interactive installations, site-specific engravings and sculptures of data visualization as well as critical design projects. He shows an interest in issues related to natural phenomena in our immediate surroundings, of a certain scientific nature, questioning subjective aspects of perception and investigating the alternative use of materials and production processes; confronting the preconceived ideas of the public and their expectations. His practice has been exhibited internationally in artistic centres such as the Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporaneo, National Art Museum of China, ZKM and Ars Electronica; as well as at the VOLTA and ARCO art fairs. It is part of public art collections such as the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art and also of scientific institutions such as the Science Museum of London and Science Museum of Barcelona. In parallel to his own production, his studio operates as a production facility focused on helping other artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to produce their projects.

The workshop takes a deeper look at the creative processes offering an inside view and explaining tools and digital processes utilized for the production purposes of artistic work.

The participants will discuss nowadays options for production, showcase, and commercialization of your work; regardless if they consider themselves artists, designers, makers, entrepreneurs or none of the above (hint: it’s all the same thing). So if they bring samples of their work, sketches or just want to get feedback on how to implement a new idea, they could go over it together with the artist.

Event takes place in ARS Art Factory, Pärnu mnt 154 Tallinn, room 111.

The talk is organized within OPEN ARS: CONNECTORIUM is event series aimed at professionals of the art field which consists of lectures, workshops, studio visits, and personal meetings with the expert guests. The project is motivated by inspiring, sharing skills, knowledge, and creative processes, and initiating new collaborations between the creative people. The aim is to introduce local artists to the international context and initiate an exchange of experience, skills, ideas and contacts. CONNECTORIUM is initiated and curated by an artist duo Varvara & Mar, who are the active residents of ARS Art Factory, in collaboration with Estonian Artists Association.
